One of our regular clients wanted to reduce production costs of their products, one of the most efficient methods was via shipping costs with weight reduction.
Our client brought this to our attention, so we acquired common loads and forces the item is commonly subjected to, then transferred these to the assembly and individual parts. As a result using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and stress testing, we were able to visualise Stress, Strain, Displacement and Safety Factors to then formulate potential weight reduction per item. The end result was a weight reduction of 13%/item, with no loss of strength or durability.
While currently importing base materials from overseas by the ton, we were able to able to reduce production costs by tens of thousands of dollars for this client.
